macOS 11-12 (Big Sur or Monterey) Screen Recording Permission

Set the Screen Recording permission on macOS 11 (Big Sur) and 12 (Monterey)

Some LockDown Browser exams require that the screen be recorded. If you are using a Mac, LockDown Browser must be granted the “Screen Recording” permission. These directions are for macOS version 11 (Big Sur) and 12 (Monterey).

1) From the Apple menu in the corner of your screen, choose System Preferences, and navigate to the “Privacy” section. Select “Screen Recording.” You may need to scroll down to find Screen Recording.

2) If LockDown Browser does not appear in the applications list, select the “+” icon to add it. (You may need to click the lock icon and enter your admin password to unlock the list.) Navigate to the Applications folder and select “LockDown Browser.”

3) Once LockDown Browser appears in the Screen Recording list, turn on the permission using the checkbox.

That’s it!

LockDown Browser will now have permission to record your screen. You may proceed to your exam.
