Assuming your mic is working okay (see this related article), you need to ensure that your volume is turned up sufficiently before starting LockDown Browser, as the volume is not permitted to be adjusted once you enter. If you attempt to adjust the volume from within LockDown Browser, you may see a volume indicator appear, but your volume will remain at the level it was set to before you entered LockDown Browser.
